I started training at CNM (College of Naturopathic Medicine) in London back in 2006, but had to break my education due to the birth of my first child. I had assumed that I’d be able to study whilst my baby slept. Sadly this wasn’t to be as for 9 months she screamed most of the day and most of the night, giving me peace between 7pm to 9pm. This of course left me tired and run down; therefore in no position to study, so I made the right decision to focus on my baby and defer my course. I went on to have two more babies, who were much the same and despite knowing that they were all cows’ milk protein intolerant and acting accordingly, they still left little time for study. In 2014, when my youngest was 2 years old, I decided that I could now finish what I had begun. I am now a fully-fledged naturopathic nutritional therapist.
What brought me here in the first place was chronic ‘dis-ease’. I had made several visits to my GP regarding my symptoms and was given a ‘plaster’ to make me better. One day I went bowling with some friends and met someone who was able to understand! It was through that meeting and subsequent consultations with Elizabeth Peyton-Jones that I am here doing what I am today. She changed my life and wellbeing, by changing the way I eat. Like her, I want to be able to help others who are suffering and through naturopathic nutrition I know I can.
